Encentiv & Iframe

Product Limitations Implementing With Iframe

What is an inline frame?

An inline frame (iframe) is an HTML element that loads another HTML page within the document. Essentially, this acts as a page inside of a page, like a sandbox that won’t be affected by the hosting page.

Why does this cause issues with Encentiv tools?

Our tools are designed to be adaptable based on the hosting page, browser type & size, and mobile viewing. Placing any of the Encentiv widgets within an iframe will limit this ability to recognize these factors, creating user interface issues and functionality limitations.

Examples include:

  • Google Analytics integration will not be automatically tracked
  • Referrer feature limitations may require specific whitelisting based on browser version, security settings, or page setup
  • Share feature issues based on access to URL of the hosting page
  • Widget CSS styling will not be automatically inherited
  • Fixed height & width settings create user interface issues on smaller browsers and mobile

If you are required to use iframe please let us know and we will work with your team to create the best user journey possible but we can not guarantee a seamless experience with our tools using iframe implementation.
